Effective date: 23 October 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Equira Labs (“we”, “us” or “our”) handles information in connection with Desk Remote for iPhone and Mac (the “App”). It applies only to the App, and not to services provided by third parties, such as Apple or the manufacturer of your desk. By using the App, you acknowledge the practices described in this policy.
We do not collect personal information through the App. The App does not require an account, does not contain advertising, and does not use analytics, tracking technologies or third-party software development kits. The App does not send information about you or your desk to us.
To provide its features, the App stores the following information locally on your device:
- the desks you connect to, their names and their height settings
- your presets and app settings
- your reminder schedule and your desk’s current sitting or standing position
- your purchases and the status of your free trial
This information remains under your control on your device, and we do not have access to it.
3. Bluetooth
The App uses Bluetooth to connect to your desk, read its current height and adjust it at your request.
4. Communication between your devices
If you have unlocked syncing or are using a free trial, and you use the App on more than one device signed in to the same Apple Account, those devices communicate directly with each other over your local network or a direct wireless connection, so that only one device controls the desk at a time. This communication includes the desk you are connected to, its name, height and height range, its sitting or standing position, the commands you send to it, your presets and settings, and how recently you used each device. These messages are encrypted and are exchanged only between your own devices.
To identify your devices to each other, the App stores a randomly generated key in your iCloud key-value storage. This key contains no personal information, and we do not have access to it.
While the App looks for your other devices, it makes your device’s name and a short code derived from that key visible to nearby devices, so that your devices can recognize each other. The code does not reveal the key.
5. Notifications
If you turn on reminders, the App schedules notifications locally on your device. The App asks for your permission before sending notifications. For information on managing notification permissions, please refer to Apple’s support documentation.
6. Purchases
Purchases and free trials are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your name, payment information or Apple Account details. Apple provides the App only with the information needed to confirm your purchases.
If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in your device’s settings, Apple may provide us with aggregated crash reports and usage statistics that do not identify you. We use this information only to improve the App’s stability and performance. For information on how Apple handles analytics sharing, please refer to Apple’s support documentation.
8. Third-party services
The App relies on services provided by Apple, including the App Store, iCloud, Handoff and notifications. Apple’s handling of your information is governed by Apple’s own privacy policy and terms, and we are not responsible for the privacy practices of Apple or of any other third party.
9. Security
We design the App to keep your information on your own devices and to encrypt communication between them. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Data retention and deletion
Because we do not collect personal information, we do not retain any. Information stored on your device is kept until you delete it or remove the App. On iPhone, removing the App deletes this information. On Mac, macOS may keep the App’s settings after the App is removed. The key the App stores in your iCloud key-value storage remains in your iCloud account after the App is removed.
11. Children’s privacy
The App does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised effective date, and your continued use of the App after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
